With over thirty years on the tools, Mat is a Qualified Builder and Licensed Building Practitioner who has done it all from simple renovations to extensive historical restorations, and the energy-efficient, high-performance homes that define HP Homes today.
Thirty years of craft, refined into a practice obsessed with how a home actually performs.
Mat began his career on traditional NZ builds villas, character renovations, family homes. Over time, he became convinced there was a better way to build for the New Zealand climate. He began studying building science, partnering with Pro Clima, MAXRaft, Starke and Stiebel Eltron, and applying every principle he learned to real homes.
Today, every HP homes project carries his signature: uncompromising quality, meticulous attention to detail, and genuine pride in every part of the build. Mat is passionate about building homes that perform better and seeing the genuine difference they make to the people who live in them.
His goal is simple: to raise the standard of what we expect from homes in New Zealand.
He’s supported by a team of skilled builders and trusted subcontractors who share his standards. Every project, from concept to keys, is led personally by Mat.
